A Community and a Partnership of Hope: Gaza Great Minds and Grassroots Gaza

When Gaza Great Minds and Grassroots Gaza join hands, hope becomes tangible. Together, our partnership reaches children and families exactly where they are, in the hardest moments, delivering crucial supplies like clothing, backpacks, and school essentials. (See our previous article, The Light in Zaina’s Smile.)

GGM student, Zaina, received new clothes and school supplies after she and her family’s tent was burned up during an Israeli military attack. Zaina’s parents were both in the hospital. She and her brother were trying to survive with support from Grassroots Gaza and Gaza Great Minds partnership together which replaced their tent, clothes, food, water, hygiene essentials, and school supplies.

By weaving together the community roots and partnership of both Gaza Great Minds and Grassroots Gaza, we nurture young minds, lift up weary families, and remind Gazans that their lives and stories matter. There’s a global community standing beside them.

This is more than aid. It’s solidarity. It’s hope. Planted one child at a time.

GGM’s partnerships within the community of Gaza are crucial to providing essential supplies for life in Gaza. Yet together we deliver more than tangible items and education. Together we help restore dignity, reassurance, and hope to the children of Gaza in their most desperate hours of need.

Children are the most vulnerable.

GGM students will never stand alone.

Water Is Life

In Gaza, a drink of water can mean the difference between a child being able to participate in learning or being forced to shut down until thirst can be quenched. Having readily available drinking water in Gaza is a necessary challenge for the functioning of a school; especially a tent school with lots of children in the dusty, summer heat.

Thanks to a partnership between Gaza Great Minds (GGM) and Grassroots Gaza, GGM students don’t have to face that issue alone. Grassroots Gaza and GGM’s partnering together means that GGM is able to provide a water tank with clean, drinking water in the commons area just outside the tent classrooms which are set up in the ruins of Palestine Stadium.

Who are we?

We are Gaza Great Minds Foundation, a nonprofit in Gaza providing safe tent classrooms, and quality education to Gaza’s children affected by war. We also provide much-needed professional psychological support.

Grassroots Gaza is a mutual aid organization dedicated to organizing direct, on-the-ground support for families across Gaza and Egypt — from emergency water deliveries to food baskets, hygiene supplies, and family sponsorships. GGM has partnered with Grassroots Gaza before, standing together in moments when a family or a classroom needed more than words of encouragement — they needed real, tangible relief. Share Gaza Great Minds

This latest collaboration brought clean drinking water directly to GGM’s tent school at the ruins of Palestine Stadium, reaching students who are already carrying the enormous weight of learning through war, displacement, and heat that regularly climbs past what any classroom should ever have to endure.

Solidarity in Community While Restoring Dignity and More Humane Conditions to Gaza’s Children

GGM currently serves over 2,100 students across two tent schools and more than 30 tent classrooms in Gaza — children who show up every day, in makeshift classrooms, choosing to learn in conditions that would shut down institutions far better resourced. Although GGM recently held graduation celebrations, school is not over. It’s ongoing with GGM’s summer program. Heat, thirst, and exhaustion are constant companions in a Gaza tent classroom. Providing clean drinking water is the difference between a child being able to listen and participate at her desk, and a child being able to complete her lesson. It’s more than just relief in scorching heat. It’s hope in a child’s heart as she refills her water bottle in the dusty, hot heat of Gaza during a dehumanizing genocide.

This is more than aid. It’s solidarity. Gaza Great Minds and Grassroots Gaza make a powerful partnership working together for the people in Gaza. Hope, compassion, and restored dignity are hallmarks of their work.
